How it is calculated
- Money at risk = account size × risk per trade.
- Risk per share = the distance between the entry and the stop.
- Shares = money at risk ÷ risk per share, rounded down.
- Reward to risk = (target − entry) ÷ (entry − stop): 3R means the target pays three times what the stop costs.

Questions
What risk per trade should I use?
Many traders risk between 0.25% and 1% of the account per trade, so that a losing streak stays survivable. It is your decision: the calculator only does the arithmetic.
Does it work for options?
It sizes in shares. For options, the money at risk is the premium you can lose, divided by the loss per contract.
Is anything saved or sent?
No. The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent.
