No card needed to start. Then CHF 5 a month or CHF 50 a year, cancel any time.

Connected in five minutes
- In IBKR Client Portal create an Activity Flex Query with the Trades, Cash Transactions and Open Positions sections, format XML.
- Enable the Flex Web Service in the account settings and generate a token.
- In TradeJournal add the account: paste the token and the query ID, press Sync.
- Every later sync rebuilds the days the statement covers, so running it twice never doubles a trade. Your notes and tags stay.
Several IBKR accounts? One query covers all of them.
The Flex query, in detail
The three sections the journal reads
Trades (Executions, all columns) brings every fill. Cash Transactions needs only Deposits & Withdrawals; tick Broker Interest, Other Fees, Dividends and Withholding Tax too if you want them in the overview. Open Positions matters more than it looks: the Trades section only lists fills inside the report window, so without it a share you have held for weeks would be missing.
Period and format
Choose Last 365 calendar days and XML, not CSV: only the XML statement carries the open-positions section. IBKR needs 10 to 60 seconds to build the statement; the journal waits for it.
Several accounts, one query
Under Delivery Configuration, Accounts, press Add/Edit Accounts and tick every account. One query and one token then cover all of them, and the journal keeps each account’s trades apart, so a buy in one account never closes a sale in another.
When the token expires
A Flex Web Service token is valid for up to a year. Generate a new one, press Edit on the account in TradeJournal and paste it: the query ID and your trades stay as they are.
Why a sync never doubles a trade
For every day the statement reports, the statement wins: those days are rebuilt from it. Days it does not mention, other brokers and trades you typed yourself are left alone, and your notes, tags and screenshots are kept through every rebuild.
Everything a trading journal should do
Brokers sync by themselves
Interactive Brokers and Trading 212 sync automatically, eToro with its API keys; Charles Schwab, Robinhood, Webull, TradeStation, DEGIRO and more on PRO; Swissquote, Saxo and any broker from a file.
Replay every trade
Watch the chart rebuild candle by candle around your entry and exit, with VWAP, moving averages and MACD.
Setups and entry tactics
Tag what the trade was and how you entered it. The playbook shows which ones actually pay you.
Positions with adds and trims
Buys and sells of one position are grouped into one line with its timeline, valued by average cost like the IBKR app.
Size and risk before you click
The position size calculator and your open risk across the account, in one place.
Market screener
US stocks by theme, 52-week highs and lows, new highs of the day and MACD crosses, refreshed during the session.
One plan, everything included
Launch price until 31 October 2026. 7 days free, no card needed to start.
Questions
Does TradeJournal place orders in my IBKR account?
No. A Flex query is read-only: the journal can read your statements and nothing else. It never sees your password.
Are options supported?
Yes. Stock and option trades, open positions, deposits and withdrawals are imported; options keep their strike, expiry and type.
Why does my P&L match the IBKR app?
Positions built with adds and trims are valued by average cost within the day, as the IBKR app does, and every new day starts from IBKR's own tax lots.
Can I import an IBKR statement file instead?
Yes. In Client Portal open Performance & Reports, Statements, Activity, choose the period and CSV, and import it as an IBKR activity statement. Stocks and options are both read; only the open-positions section needs the XML Flex query.
When do today’s trades arrive?
IBKR builds the Activity statement once a day, after the close, so the trades of a day arrive with the next sync after that.
